Known port assigments

ports is a searchable database for official and unofficial port assignments.

Port numbers

The Well Known Ports are those from 0 through 1023.
The Registered Ports are those from 1024 through 49151.
The Dynamic and/or Private Ports are those from 49152 through 65535.

Examples

List all known assignments for port 22, or all known ports whose name or description contains ssh, or known trojans, or worms.

I have collected these port assignments from various sources on the internet. Some main sources were:

This little database is by no means complete. If you have any port assignments that are not in this database, feel free to drop me a line and let me know.

Please note: Some people seem to misunderstand the purpose of this site. ports is not a port scanner, ports will not test your host for vulnerabilities. ports is a simple database that contains known port assignments. Don't ask me whether your machine is infected by trojans, as I really don't know.
